FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in diesel engines. A two-stroke diesel engine includes a cylinder block, head (6) of the block, a crankshaft, pistons inserted in the cylinders and connected by means of piston-rods (9) to the crankshaft, on which a flywheel is fixed, and a high pressure pump mechanically connected to the crankshaft. The engine has an air pump mechanically connected to the crankshaft, feed, cooling, lubrication and start systems, and control mechanisms. Each cylinder has two longitudinal internal slots (25) arranged opposite each other in the diameter line, one of which has an inlet opening and the other one has an outlet opening. Each of the pistons consists of two disks (26) and (27) - upper and lower ones, which are connected to each other with their end surfaces and connected with bolts (28). Inside upper and lower disks (26) and (27) there is an additional combustion chamber in the form of cavity (29) formed with horizontal and inclined surfaces (30) and (31) and provided on opposite lateral sides of the piston with inlet and outlet openings (32) and (33), which are interconnected with longitudinal internal slots (25) of the cylinder. Opposite horizontal and inclined surfaces (30) and (31) of cavity (29) are parallel, equal as to dimensions and surface area to each other. The main combustion chamber (34) is related to the additional combustion chamber via L-shaped passage (35) for equalisation of air pressure in them at the end of the compression cycle. Injector (7) fixed on the cylinder block is connected via passages (36) to both combustion chambers for simultaneous supply of fuel in them. On side surface of lower disk (27) of the piston there are two opposite projections (38) with L-shaped sealing elements (39) under the inlet and outlet openings of the additional combustion chamber, which enter longitudinal internal slots (25) of the cylinder with a possibility of vertical movement.

EFFECT: increase of engine output.
