SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture and forestry, in particular to the field of reclamation of sandy soils in the semi-desert zone, and can be used to improve water-air and nutrient regimes of the root layer of sandy soils. The method of reclamation of sandy soils in the semi-desert zone comprises creation in a plough horizon of bioproductive layer by application of modifying additive into the soil, which is used as nutrient water-accumulating composition in the form of an aqueous mixture of the composition, wt %: water-accumulating sorbent - 5-30; organo-mineral nutrient filler - 10-40; water - the rest. The water-accumulating sorbent is used as either/and straw, and/or cereal peeling waste, and/or sawdust, and/or chips, and/or peat subjected to mechanical activation. The organo-mineral nutrient filler is used as either/and humus, and/or peat, and/or biocompost, and/or sapropel, and/or clay, if necessary, balanced in content with NPK fertilizers and micronutrients, and in the content of soluble humic substances with potassium and/or sodium humate.
