SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of electrical machines. A rotor (4) for an electrical machine (1) comprises a shaft (6), a cross-bar at the shaft (6), a multilayer drum (8) at the cross-bar. The cross-bar has a multitude of elements placed at a distance defining air ducts. The multilayer drum (8) has a multitude of cooling channels (17) connected to the air ducts. The rotor (4) has also a choke element (25) coupled to at least one air duct and/or cooling channel (17).
EFFECT: preventing the circulation of any air-flow rate exceeding the air-flow rate required for cooling.
