METHOD FOR REPAIRING ATROPHIED ALVEOLAR PART OF LOWER JAW Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgical dentistry, and aims at repairing an atrophied alveolar part of a lower jaw across the width before the implant treatment. A mucous membrane is incised once up to a bone from a lingual side of an alveolar crest and twice in the vertical direction to limit a surgical field towards a transient fold. A mucoperiosteal flap is cut out in the vestibular direction. The bone tissue is sawn through twice longitudinally along an apex of the alveolar crest and from the vestibular side at 12 mm below from the apex of the crest; the saw cuts are connected inside the bone at an angle of 90°. That is followed by making two vertical saw cuts limiting a repair region and connecting edges of the horizontal saw cuts at 45° from the bone surface to the outer sides. A formed bone fragment is separated and fixed by mini screws into place in a new position, with the block rotated along its longitudinal axis by 25-30°. A space formed between the bone block and donor's bone is filled with an osteoplastic material mixed with autologous chips. A repair region is covered from above with a resorbable membrane. The mucoperiosteal flap is mobilised, placed on the wound tensionless and closed tightly.

EFFECT: by forming a free bone fragment to be fixed in its new position, the method enables enlarging the width of the alveolar part of the lower jaw and thereby creating the optimum conditions for the following implantation and orthopaedic alignment.
