METHOD OF TREATING AND PREVENTING SCOLIOSIS AND DEVICE FOR IMPLEMENTING IT Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61N1/32 A61F5/02

Abstract RU 2559146 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: back muscles are electrically stimulated with pulse current in a cyclic mode with each cycle making three days. On the first and second day, two therapeutic sessions are performed; on the third day, the patient has a rest; the first session of the first day involves placing electrodes of an electric stimulation apparatus paravertebrally along the convex side of the scoliotic curve, and the exposure is exercised in accordance with a programme of a tension gain in paravertebral muscles with weak muscle tone on this side. The second session of the first day from the cycle includes the paravertebral exposure along the full length of the spinal column in accordance with the programme aiming at the maximum paravertebral muscle fatigue combined with normalising their muscle tone. For the first session of the second day from the cycle, the electrodes are placed paravertebrally along the full length of the spinal column, and the patient is successively exposed: first, according to the programme of the maximum paravertebral muscle fatigue and then according to the programme of the maximum relaxation. The second session of the second day from the cycle, the electrodes are placed paravertebrally along the concave side of the scoliotic curve, which is followed by electric muscular stimulation to relax the high-tone muscles as much as possible. A device for implementing the method represents a vest comprising a support, a fastening belt and straps attached to lower and upper parts of the support and provided with mutual end holders, and straps attached to the support sides. There is also a pair of identical detachable movable electrodes with a large working area, push-button contacts and Velcro fasteners from the opposite side. Two inner Velcro fasteners are attached vertically symmetrically on the vest from the inside. The lengths of the electrodes and the inner Velcro fasteners are equal to the height of the vest from the inside. The belt is integrated with the lower part of the support to form a lower waist part of the vest; the upper straps are integrated with the support to form an upper part of the vest. From the outside, the vest has two pairs of Velcro fasteners: one - in the upper part of the vest, and the other - in the lower waist part. The upper and lower pairs of the outside Velcro fasteners are displaced to each other in relation to the end faces of the upper and lower ends of the inner Velcro fasteners.

EFFECT: more accurate determination of the transmitted antenna power; the group of inventions provides optimising the muscle tone, creating the strong pectoral sling, eliminating pain syndrome, improving blood supply and metabolic processes, including in the patients suffering from severe deformities, enabling vertical adjustment, improved movement and psychoemotional tone, and muscle mass.
