FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry. This noise killer comprises case (5), at least, one exhaust gas inlet, at least one exhaust gas outlet and at least one noise killing device (6, 7) fitted in said case (5). Said case (5) houses at least one cooling element fitted to bleed heat energy from exhaust gas. Case (5) houses at least one tubular channel (1) for exhaust gas flow passage thermally communicated with said cooling element. Case (5) accommodates at least one cooling device (3) thermally communicated with said cooling element. Cooling device (3) and tubular channel (1) are thermally communicated via cooling element and, additionally, mechanically connected by means of heat insulating elements (4). Forces acting between cooling device (3) and tubular channel (1) are transferred, in fact, solely through insulating elements (4). Besides, it covers the version of noise killing wherein cooling element is composed of thermoelectric generator (2) with its high-temperature side located in heat-insulating connection with exhaust gas while low-temperature side insulated from exhaust gas. Case (5) accommodates at least one cooling device (3) thermally communicated with thermoelectric generator low-temperature side. Note that said noise-killing device (7) includes tubular channel (1), thermoelectric generator (2) and cooling device (3). Case (5) apart from tubular channel (1) houses no other noise-killing appliances.
EFFECT: compact design, conversion of thermal energy into useful power.
