FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering. Vehicle drive unit (1) comprises power plant, which includes internal combustion engine (2), exhaust pipe (4), through which exhaust gas (19) can be removed from ICE (2). Unit (1) comprises a cyclic device for conversion of heat energy of waste gas (19) in a thermodynamic cyclic process to mechanical operation, wherein working medium (10) flows in series relative to its direction of flow through first heat exchanger (5), in which heat is transferred from waste gas (19) to working medium (10), then through expansion device (6), in which expansion of working medium (10) takes place and mechanical work is performed, then through second heat exchanger (8), in which heat is transferred from working medium (10) to coolant (11). Thermoelectric generator (13), which at temperature difference between high-temperature side (14) and low-temperature side (15) provides electric voltage. Working medium (10) of the cyclic device is also directed through said high-temperature side (14). Cooling of low-temperature side (15) of thermoelectric generator (13) is performed by means of coolant different from working medium (10). Also disclosed is a vehicle with a drive unit.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of waste heat utilization.
