SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to tool tips and cutters and to their fabrication. Making of cutting plate comprising cutting surface, opposite surface, cutting plate outer wall extending from opposite surface circle to that of cutting surface. One or several ribs extend from cutting surface to cutting plate outer wall. Note also that cutting surface includes leached polycrystalline diamond. Note that said ribs feature lower wear resistance than cutting surface. fabrication of said cutting element comprises the steps that follow. Making of cutting plate comprising cutting surface, opposite surface, cutting plate outer wall extending from opposite surface circle to that of cutting surface. Cutting plate is jointed to substrate to make one or several ribs extending from cutting surface section to cutting plate outer wall section. Note here that cutting surface comprises leached polycrystalline diamond and features higher wear resistance than at least one of said ribs.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of cutting.
