FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for tobacco material expansion and to a device for such method implementation. The tobacco material expansion method involves stages of soaking and treatment causing tobacco material swelling by way of the tobacco material contact with water steam flow at a temperature of 100°C to 160°C and the soaked and swollen tobacco material drying by way of the tobacco material contact with overheated water steam flow at a higher temperature than that of water steam; such method is implemented with usage of the device according to Clause 10.
EFFECT: creation of a method for expansion of tobacco material and a device for the method implementation, such material and device suitable for tobacco material filling capacity in comparison with traditional methods, as well as simplification of the design of the device wherein continues treatment may be implements; the device has increased service life.
