FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: as peat base sphagnum moss peat humus with degree of decomposition higher than 20% and ash content not higher than 10% is used. The sorbent is obtained via preliminary preparation of a peat base, which is treated by separation from wood and other inclusions. The peat is then fed into a drying drum with heat carrier temperature at the inlet of 350-500°C and 60-110°C at the outlet. The peat is then ground to particle size of 0.5-10 mm after drying to moisture content of 18-24%.
EFFECT: obtaining a peat sorbent with high efficiency, having the capacity for biological decomposition of absorbed carbohydrates when storing an absorbed mass.
