FIELD: physics, control.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device and methods of controlling an aeroplane. An aeroplane, fitted with a control system, which comprises control means based on two control laws, means of detecting control surface failure/damage, computing means for computing angles and rate of change of deviation angles of the control surfaces, as well as for computing the required changes in aeroplane moments, means of evaluating the need to switch from one control law to the other. When controlling the aeroplane according to a first law, the deviation angles of the control surfaces are controlled and when controlling according to the second law, engine thrust is controlled. The method includes switching from the first law to the second law based on results of computing angles and rates of change of deviation angles of control surfaces taking into account the result of detecting control surface failure/damage by evaluating whether or not calculated values exceed allowable measurement ranges.
