FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: skin, subcutaneous fat, superficial leaf of fascia lata are incised angularly in length 10-12 cm in a projection of a femoral nerve. An inguinal ligament is separated and elevated. An abdominal content limited by a parietal layer of peritoneum is displaced in the ventral direction; the subcutaneous fat is mobilised in the blunt way along the femoral nerve with exposing the same.
EFFECT: complete view of the proximal portion of the femoral nerve above the inguinal ligament, prevents postoperative inguinal herniation.
