SUBSTANCE: method to assess quantitative losses of oil and oil products from evaporation at in-breathing of a reservoir equipped with a breather valve, consists in control of excessive pressure variation in a reservoir and provides for registration of excessive pressure value, atmospheric pressure, average values of gas space temperature in a reservoir, detection of variations of mass concentration of hydrocarbons in a gas space of a reservoir, detection of mass losses from evaporation with displacement of enriched hydrocarbon vapours according to certain formulas.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of mass losses detection.
