FIELD: physics, computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to computer engineering and can be used in computer system processors. The disclosure describes use of a set of general purpose registers (GPR) in a computer. Each GPR has a plurality of parts. Programs such as an operating system and applications operating in a large GPR mode, access the full GPR, and programs such as applications operating in small GPR mode, only have access to a part at a time. Instruction codes, in small GPR mode, may determine which part is accessed.
EFFECT: realising instructions matched with the existing architecture, which reduce dependency on architecture resources and improve efficiency of software versions.
