SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway equipment, particularly, to railway vehicle coupler. Coupling head comprises body (6) extending in lengthwise direction from first end (6a) to be coupled with coupling drawbar towards second end (6b). Coupling head body incorporates mechanical connectors (8, 9) for automatic coupling with appropriate components of coupler. Body has at least one recess (11, 11′) intended for preset axial compression of said body with absorption of energy. Coupling head has at least one recess (11, 11′) intended for preset folding in coupling head body.
EFFECT: higher capacity of coupler for absorption of energy generated at collision, improved protection of car frame against deformation.
