FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: supports of an overhead system or similar devices are fitted with receiving-transmitting modules which use an open atmosphere channel as the information transmission medium. The device is capable of being connected to a system of signalling devices, listen to information transmitted therein and independently send signals therein. A photodetector is capable of receiving signals in the visible and infrared spectrum. A transmitting module consists of infrared LEDs. A modulator is used to generate a transmitted signal. A received signal is processed using a demodulator, a bandpass filter and an integrating amplifier with a limiter. A power supply unit is capable of receiving power from electric mains, a photocell or a battery. When powered by a battery or a photocell, the device disconnects the transmitting module and the photodetector.

EFFECT: safer movement of a traction rolling stock.
