A biological lipid composition liquid at room temperature, produced from marine copepods of the genus Calanus, contains wax esters in a certain amount; it is applicable as a medicinal product for preventing or treating cardiovascular diseases, wherein the atherosclerosis plaque formation inhibition and/or the total blood cholesterol reduction are/is considered being favourable. EFFECT: above composition and medicinal product ensure inhibiting the atherosclerosis plaque formation and/or reducing the total blood cholesterol.
