FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pneumatic tires. The tire includes on its lateral surfaces a large number of recesses located along circular direction and a spot being part differing from recesses. In the outline of each recess, the length in circular direction is greater than the length in radial direction, and ratio of occupied area of each recess is greater than or equal to 75%, but less than or equal to 93%. The outline of each recess is essentially rectangular. Large number of recesses includes recesses of the first row which are located along circular direction, and recesses of the second row which are located along circular direction and are correspondingly located adjacent to recesses of the first row. Distance in circular direction between position of each recess belonging to the first row and position of a recess located adjacent to the mentioned recess and belongs to the second row is greater than or equal to 3.0 mm.
EFFECT: reduced tire weight and higher durability.
