FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: comparison of two digital images of glottis, obtained before and after treatment, is carried out by means of videoendoscopic systems. Segments between point of connection of vocal folds in area of anterior commissure and middle of interarytenoid space are marked out on compared images. Value of marked out segments is determined in pixels and equal value, expressed in conventional units (conv. units) is given to them, scale of each image is determined in pixel/conventional unit, contours of glottis before and after treatment are marked out. Calculation of areas inside marked out contours in conventional units is performed with taking into account scale by means of software for analysis and processing of images, and change of glottis area is determined by formula: ΔS = (S2-S1)×100/S1, where: ΔS is change of glottis area, %; S1 is area of glottis lumen before treatment, conventional units; S2 is area of glottis lumen after treatment, conventional units.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase accuracy of determining change of glottis area due to analysis of digital images, obtained by means of endoscopic system of various types.
