FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: pipe to be finally deformed is heated up to the temperature of 850-920°C; final deformation is performed simultaneously with accelerated controlled cooling with water flow with volume of at least 15 m3/h and directed to the deformed pipe tangentially to the roll to the temperature of pipe outer surface of not more than 880°C; after the pipe leaves the mill, it is additionally cooled down in the air during 5-13 s to the temperature of not more than 860°C.
EFFECT: increasing strength characteristics, stability of mechanical properties, minimising deviations as to geometrical parameters of finished tubes, as well as enlarging the application field of thermomechanical treatment.
