FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analysis of the quality of oilfield reagents, particularly process liquids, containing anionic surfactants. The method includes collecting samples and determining foaming properties by a foam expansion ratio method. If foam expansion ratio is not less than 0.1 and the life span of a foam head is not less than 10 s, the process liquid contains a surfactant. Concentration of the surfactant is determined using calibration curves plotted in advance based on investigating foaming properties of the process liquids. The method enables to determine presence of surfactants in process liquids with content of 0.04 wt % or higher.
EFFECT: affordable and simple analysis procedure, real-time measurement and easier determination of concentration of surfactants in process liquids at oil producing facilities without conditions for laboratory analysis.
