METHOD FOR ASSESSING ADAPTATION TO DENTAL PROSTHESES Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B6/14 A61C13/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: adaptation to dental prostheses is assessed including evaluating category features in points according to Table 1 "Dynamic Assessment Record on Patient's Adaptation to Dental Prostheses", including 15 statements to be evaluated according to the 4-point system in categories: "mastication discomfort", "tactile discomfort", "signs of prosthetic bed mucosa injury", "salivation nature", "speech discomfort". An integrated parameter is an adaptation index calculated by formula AIDP=∑/n, wherein ∑ is the total score derived from interviewing, n is the total quantity of statements equal to 15, AIDP is the adaptation index; the adaptation should be considered to occur if AIDP≤0.1.

EFFECT: method enables increasing the objectivity of assessing the patient's adaptation to removable and fixed dental prostheses by assessing the informative category features, including visual ones: prosthetic bed tissue health, inflammation centres and injuries in the mucous membrane during the examination, as well as by using a biopotentialometry technique.
