FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: autograft is a sural nerve 27-30 cm long. A greater portion of the autograft 20-22 cm long with its distal portion facing a growth zone is delivered through a tunnel pre-formed in a myosubcutaneous aponeurotic layer from a buccal branch of a facial nerve on the intact side to a facial nerve trunk on the involved side. The buccal branch of the facial nerve is end-to-end sutured to the greater portion of the autograft. An autograft insert 5-7 cm long with its distal portion facing the growth zone is placed into the subcutaneous tunnel between the facial nerve trunk and a hypoglossal nerve trunk. The facial nerve trunk is transected; one end of the insert of the autoplastic sural nerve is side-to-end sutured to the hypoglossal nerve trunk, whereas its other end is end-to-end sutured to the facial nerve trunk dissected away. The facial nerve trunk dissected away is also end-to-end sutured to the greater portion of the autoplastic sural nerve.

EFFECT: method enables providing higher clinical effectiveness ensured by recovering the synchronous motor function of the mimic muscles.
