FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the fuel assemblies (FA) of nuclear reactors of VVER type. FA contains fuel elements located in the spacer grids (SG) of plate type on the triangular grid and the bearing grid - the filter with grooves for the heat carrier flow, FA installed in the tail. Grooves for the heat carrier flow are oriented by its wider side towards the heat carrier flow. The upper edges of SG plates have in the upper part of FA the plates deflecting or twirling the heat carrier located locally in the locations of the most heat-stressed fuel elements and extending beyond SG upper plane into the space between fuel elements.
EFFECT: decrease of hydraulic resistance of the fuel assemblies owing to decrease in hydraulic resistance of the bearing lattice filter at preservation of its filtering properties due to performance of grooves for pass of the heat carrier extending towards to a heat carrier flow, giving to a spacer grid of properties of the mixing lattice and an exception of the mixing lattice increasing the hydraulic resistance of the fuel assemblies in much bigger degree, than the mixing elements on a spacer grid.
