FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by removing before the stress influence in chickens of 4 and 7 definitive flight feathers of the first order, then after regeneration of feathers in chickens, the assessment of morphological and structural parameters of the new feathers is carried out, and the differences between them are determined. To assess the morphological, structural and linear parameters of the feathers the length of calamus, the width of the vexillum, the vexillum index are used, namely the ratio of the vexillum to the calamus, the index of asymmetry, namely the ratio of the width of the wide part of the vexillum to the narrow one and the index of feather pubescence, namely the ratio of the weight of the feather stem to the barbs. And, if the normal differences between the morphological parameters of the 4 and 7 flying feathers vary from 3% to 28%, then in case of impact of acute and chronic stress, these figures are reduced by 1.5-4 times.

EFFECT: forecasting the degree of negative impact of extreme external factors, the possible of loss of egg production, the definition of stress resistance in chickens at low cost and with available means of measurement.
