FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: defective section is disconnected from the main gas pipeline by shutting of block valves from both of its ends. Parallel to the block valves the main gas pipeline is connected with the bypass and bypass assembly. Gas from the defective section is pumped out by the liquid jet ejector by means of the liquid pump until creation in the defective section of the pressure no less than 1 bar. Then gas is bled into atmosphere until achievement of pressure in the defective section, close to atmospheric one, and it is vented with ambient air through the bypass by means of the ejector until formation in the defective section of non-explosive concentration of gas. After repair by the ejector air is evacuated from the repaired section until vacuum formation and the repaired section is filled through the bypass with gas from the gas pipeline. Air-gas mix is evacuated by the ejector from the repaired section into atmosphere and simultaneously the repaired section is filled with gas from the gas pipeline through the bypass.
EFFECT: improvement of safety of repair of the main gas pipeline and gas consumption reduction.
