SUBSTANCE: invention relates to extraction of metals and metal compounds from metal-bearing raw materials. The method includes mixing with water medium of metal-bearing ore and/or a source of the raw materials containing the first metal in insoluble form, chrome-bearing material as the second metal, and other compounds to get the suspension containing the first metal in insoluble form, Cr compounds and other compounds. Then pH suspension is reduced to the optimum interval for Cr oxidation to convert Cr into insoluble form, Cr is selectively leached by adding of leachant amount, sufficient to get Cr in soluble form while the first metal remains in suspension in an insoluble form. Then the suspension is filtered to get the filter cake containing the first metal in insoluble form and the filtrate containing Cr in soluble form. Then the filter cake or Cr containing filtrate are extracted.

EFFECT: selective extraction of, at least, one metal from the chrome containing metal-bearing raw material.
