FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to removal of heavy metal hydroxyl anions from water flows. Hydroxyl anions of various contaminants, e.g. chromium, tungsten, vanadium and uranium, etc., are extracted form water or initial water materials by treating initial water material with sorbent containing one or more REE compounds mixed with solid phase or applied thereon that has cation exchange capacity lower than 20 milliequivalents per 100 g, or by treating with water solution of one or more soluble REE compounds to form insoluble composition based on hydroxyl anion compound with REE.
EFFECT: efficient extraction of toxic metals, radioactive included, using sorption.
