SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and deals with a method for the prediction of a stable virologic response in a human individual, infected with the hepatitis C virus with genotype 1, to treatment with interferon. The claimed method includes the provision of a sample from the human individual, identification of the presence of a single nucleotide polymorphism in chromosome 4 and determinations of the fact that the said individual has a high probability of a stable virologic response to treatment with interferon in case if the said single nucleotide polymorphism is present and is selected from the group, including G in rs10009948, G in rs10023606 and T in rs7673763.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to distinguish potential patients, who respond and do not produce response to standard medical treatment.
