FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: in the method to select valid information and to identify failures of meters, at five meters in each tract in a platformless inertial navigation system (PINS), based on readings received as a result of cyclic synchronous query of meters, axes of sensitivity of any three of which are noncoplanar, and calculation of vectors of apparent acceleration and angular speed in each cycle using values of guide cosines of axes of sensitivity of the meters, according to the invention, the specified vectors are calculated at all possible combinations of triple meters. Produced vectors in each tract are distributed by groups, which include four vectors, calculated according to readings of four meters. By vectors of groups they calculate average vectors and indicators of variation relative to the average vector they find a group with the minimum variation indicator in the current cycle, and the average vector of this group is taken as a valid vector of the current cycle. Failures of tract meters are identified on the basis of good condition of meters, by the readings of which the valid vector is calculated, and the result of comparison with the allowance of the module of difference of actual reading of the meter, which is not used in calculation of the valid vector and its rated reading. At the same time the rated reading is determined as a projection of the valid vector against the axis of sensitivity of the checked meter.

EFFECT: selection of valid information and fault-free operation of measurement tracts with one meter failure, and identification of meter failures with surplus information in each tract in PINS.
