FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: metal extraction method involves ore leaching by continuous multistage counter flow heap leaching. At each intermediate stage there supplied is a leaching solution prepared using a mother solution obtained at the next leaching stage of the previous heap. At the last stage there supplied is an initial leaching solution. The mother solution obtained at the first stage is supplied for processing as a productive solution. Leaching is performed with the number of stages, which provides for the reduction of acidity of mother solutions obtained at the first stages to the level required for the first processing stage of productive solutions, or in addition, these mother solutions are subject to neutralisation by their filtration on a heap of another rock. Processing of the productive solutions is performed stage-by-stage using ion-exchange sorbents at several stages so that an eluate is obtained at each stage, which is saturated with the metal corresponding to this stage and depleted with other metals.
EFFECT: improving complete extraction of nickel and cobalt from low-quality ore and/or from small deposits at low material and energy consumptions.
