FIELD: atomic physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering, particularly devices for handling spent fuel assemblies at a nuclear power plant. The shaft for linking a spent fuel element handling chamber with a transportation container is fitted with a transfer chamber which is in the form of a rectangular chamber with three sections on the height. The bottom section is fitted with a sliding stopper board for biological protection of the transportation corridor from radiation of the fuel assemblies handled in the handling chamber. The middle section is fitted with a sliding bogie for fitting a cover removed from the transportation container and moving the bogie into the transfer chamber to free up space for subsequent loading-unloading of the casing of the transportation container and storage thereof for the period of loading the casing or transfer through the back wall of the transfer chamber for repair and inspection. The top section is fitted with a sliding bogie with a rotary platform for mounting the casing of the transportation container while loading ampoules containing elements of the handled fuel elements, which, upon sliding, is linked with the drive of the rotary platform.
EFFECT: higher safety and reliability of unloading ampoules with handled fuel elements from the handling chamber.
