FIELD: veterinary medicine.

SUBSTANCE: calves are watered, starting with the second watering, with colostrums, the preparation of the EM group. At that, the preparation of EM group is used as a solution of dry microbial ferment "EM-Kurunga" obtained by adding to 1 litre of 1.5% of cow milk of 1 teaspoon honey and 2 g of dry microbial ferment "EM-Kurunga", stirring and keeping in a container covered with lid at room temperature for 2-3 days with occasional stirring. The said preparation is applied at a dose of 150 ml three times a day for 10 days. Additionally, on the 1, 2 and 7 day of life, the biologically active complex is injected intramuscularly or subcutaneously of 50-55 mg/kg body weight, containing xymedon hydrochloride, ascorbic acid and a physiological solution with the following component ratio, wt %: xymedon hydrochloride - 13.22, ascorbic acid - 4.13, physiological solution - the rest, obtained by mixing calculated amounts of xymedon hydrochloride and ascorbic acid followed by sterilising the resulting mixture with dry heat at a temperature of 100°C for 25-30 minutes and adding immediately prior to use of sterile physiological solution.

EFFECT: maintaining physiological homeostasis by compensation of physiological dysbacteriosis, normalisation of carbohydrate, protein, fat and mineral metabolism, increasing immunobiological reactivity and prevention of gastrointestinal diseases of newborn calves.
