FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves an ozone therapy by intravenous administration of 200.0 ml of ozonised normal saline with the ozone concentration of 600 mcg/l in ozone-oxygen gas mixture, every second day. The patients receive 8 procedures of the ozone therapy accompanied bubbling through normal saline with ozone-oxygen gas mixture continuously; the first four procedures are performed at an injection rate of 5-7 ml/min for 30-40 minutes, whereas for the following procedures, the injection rate increases up 8-10 ml/min with the procedure length reduced to 20-25 minutes.
EFFECT: safe and effective rehabilitation treatment of the elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, reduced length of clinical-metabolic rehabilitation, higher quality of life of the above patients.
