METHOD FOR TREATING MAXILLOFACIAL ODONTOGENOUS PHLEGMON CASES IN AGED PATIENTS Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61K33/00 A61B17/24 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing 1-2 ml of ozone-and-oxygen mixture containing ozone at 1-2 mg/l concentration. The treatment is administered in a course of 2-4 procedures every other day alternated with intravenous ozone-and-oxygen mixture of 900 mcg/l in the amount of 200 ml within 30 min in a course of 2-4 procedures. Then, the intravenous infusions are given daily gradually reducing ozone concentration to 200 mcg/l and duration of 10-15 min to the seventh-tenth procedure. Wound is locally treated with ozonized distilled water during 7-10 procedures. Ozone concentration in the ozone-and-oxygen mixture is equal to 4000 mcg/l during I phase of wound process. Ozonized distilled water is applied during II phase of wound process with ozone concentration in the ozone-and-oxygen mixture equal to 200-1000 mcg/l.

EFFECT: improved tolerance of aged patients; recovery of anti-infection protection system; accelerated pyo-inflammatory process relief.
