STAROVEROV'S PROPELLANT-6 Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC C06B27/00

Abstract RU 2570010 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to propellants. The propellant contains liquid or bound oxygen and hydride or mixture of hydrides. As bound oxygen it contains oxygen-releasing substance or mixture of oxygen-releasing substances, for instance nitric acid, nitrogen pentoxide solution in it, hydrogen peroxide or tetranitromethane, and as hydrides it contains melted hydride or suspension of solid hydride in liquid one. As hydrides boranes, silanes, phosphines, germanes, beryllium, lithium, aluminium hydrides, double hydrides of lithium-aluminium or borohydrides can be used as hydrides. Oxygen is present in propellant in such amount as to result in release of hydrogen as a reaction result.

EFFECT: increase of jet stream velocity and specific impulse of rocket engine, which makes it possible to reduce weight and dimensions of engine, especially liquid one.
