FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a hot-melt, pressure-sensitive adhesive. The adhesive includes a pressure-sensitive adhesive core comprising at least one polymer selected from a polyester, polyacrylate, polyolefin, polyurethane, ethylene vinyl acetate polymers, styrene block copolymers, or mixtures of at least one tackifier and in some cases an additive. The adhesive substance has a softening point of 80-150°C and a sticky surface at 25°C. The hot-melt adhesive is granular. Each granule of the adhesive has an external cladding made of a film-forming material, wherein i) the film-forming material is a thermoplastic polymer with a melting point lower than 120°C, ii) each granule is completely surrounded by the film material, iii) the film is deposited in the form of a continuous film so that granules have a non-sticky surface and are free-flowing at temperature lower than 45°C.
EFFECT: granules can be used as feed material for automatic feeding systems for supplying hot-melt adhesive application devices.
