SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for gluing cardboard boxes. Method of producing hot glue involves mixing components of the adhesive composition in a reactor and extruding the mixture in an extruder to obtain hot glue extrudates. Then, hot glue extrudates and solid particles are loaded into the drum, which adhere to the extrudates from the outside and form an antioxidant shell on top of the hot glue extrudates. Then the hot glue granules are packed into bags and/or boxes. Solid particles forming the antioxidant film are represented by a substance with a melting point below the melting point of the adhesive composition in amount of 0.1–3% of the weight of the hot glue granules.
EFFECT: invention reduces contact of the melt adhesive composition with oxygen and reduces formation of carbon deposits when using hot glue without affecting its adhesive properties.
