FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a copolymer material for an ophthalmic device and to an intraocular lens including said copolymer material. The copolymer material includes one or more aryl acrylic hydrophobic monomers as principal device-forming monomers, a tack-reducing macromer and a glistening-reducing additive. Besides their use as intraocular lens materials, the present materials are also suitable for use in other implantable ophthalmic devices.
EFFECT: copolymer material is soft, non-glistening, has low tack and low haze, has low surface light scatter, and is characterised by good unfolding properties when passing through small incisions.
