SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used in bandwidth limited communication paths. A method of increasing channel capacity of a bandwidth limited communication path allows multiple independent modulated data streams to be transmitted by simultaneously and instantaneously sharing the same bandwidth without cross-channel interference. A matched filter which is used to substantially reduce the error rate employs a unique training method based on determining spectral response. An algorithm calculates the effect of the unique characteristics of the communication highway on the transmitted signal and generates an ideal signal stored in the matched filter for comparison with received signals.

EFFECT: high signal-to-noise ratio.
