SUBSTANCE: invention relates to signal processing, encoding and decoding. A sampling frequency conversion module converts sampling frequency of an input signal, and a subband dividing circuit divides the input signal after sampling conversion into subband signals, the number of which corresponds to the sampling frequency. A high-frequency subband pseudo-power computing circuit computes high-frequency subband pseudo-power values based on low-frequency band signals of the input signal and coefficient tables containing power estimate coefficients for corresponding subbands of the high-frequency band. A high-frequency subband pseudo-power difference computing circuit compares the power values of the subband of the high-frequency band and the pseudo-power values of the subband of the high-frequency band and selects a coefficient table from the plurality of coefficient tables.
EFFECT: reproducing a musical signal with the best sound quality owing to bandwidth extension.
