FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: method of detecting the location of mobile objects comprises monitoring the region of a water area by passive location in the microwave range and is based on detecting the intrinsic microwave radiation of the ocean, arising due to change in the thermohaline structure of surface and deep layers of the ocean, and detecting changes in the structure of the region of the troposphere over the region of the water area, collecting and accumulating arrays of data on thermohaline circulation and the state of the region of the troposphere in the assumed absence of underwater objects. In the assumed presence of an underwater object, monitoring of the given region of the water area and the region of the troposphere is also performed by passive location by receiving, at a ground station, radio signals emitted by the surface of the region of the water area and the region of the troposphere, wherein the method includes comparing the accumulated array of data on thermohaline circulation and the state of the troposphere, with association with the given surface of the water area in the assumed absence of underwater objects, with received radio signals emitted by the surface of the region of the water area and the troposphere; in the assumed presence of an underwater object, in the presence of deviations showing geophysical disturbance as a result of the underwater object crossing geomagnetic lines of the Earth, based on the received data, determining the value of electromagnetic field flux in the direction of the Pointing vector, from which presence of an underwater object is determined; further performing active probing of the troposphere over the given region of the water area in the assumed presence of an underwater object by emitting and receiving radio signals reflected by meta-formations of the troposphere, comparing the accumulated array of data on thermohaline circulation with association with the given surface of the water area in the assumed absence of underwater objects with received radio signals emitted by the surface of the region of the water area in the assumed presence of an underwater object and in the presence of deviations showing geophysical disturbance as a result of an underwater object crossing geomagnetic lines of the Earth, and also determining the electromagnetic field power flux in the direction of the Pointing vector. When approximately identical power flux values are obtained, the underwater object is judged to be an underwater vehicle, wherein change in the state of the troposphere and disturbance arising from thermohaline circulation is used to locate the underwater object.
EFFECT: longer range, wider viewing angle and high stealthiness of objects performing search.
