SUBSTANCE: method of rapid assessment of the level of pollution of pasture territory comprises feeding limnetic shell-fish of orb snail family (Planorbidae) Planorbarius corneus L. or Planorbis planorbis L. for 30 days of Norway maple leaves (Acer platanoides L.), harvested at the beginning of leaf fall and kept in distilled water at a temperature of 20-25°C for 3-5 days. In case of death of 30% or more orb snails, absence or termination of egg production and termination of development of embryos in the eggs the level of pollution is estimated to be high, in case of death of less than 30% of orb snails, the termination of egg production and arrested development of embryos in eggs - as the average; in case of absence of death, the maintenance of egg production and development of embryos in eggs - as low.

EFFECT: improved accuracy of assessment of the environmental condition of pastures.
