SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of veterinary helminthology. The method consists in the fact that after helminthological assessment of pasture with the identification of biotopes of shellfish of subgenus Galba - intermediate hosts of fascioles taking into account the pasture area, topography, soil type and water regime, vegetation cover, presence of wetlands in October the introduction of a jointweed Polygonum minus Huds is carried out with solid seeding at the rate of 450-500 pc. seeds per 1 m² in Galba biotopes at the reservoir depth of more than 10 cm on the width of 1 m from the edge of the shore, with its further uniform sowing from the water level to the depth ≤10 cm; in Galba biotopes at the reservoir depth up to 10 cm on the width of 1 m to coastal zone from the water's edge and then across the whole area of the reservoir bottom; in meadowed Galba biotopes - on the width of 1 m from the edge of microreservoirs across the inner plowed area and evenly on the bottom of microreservoirs.

EFFECT: method ensures the effective prevention of fascioliasis due to a combination of expressed molluscicide-repellent effects of active substances of jointweed and environmental changes in habitat due to creation of continuous grass cover with introduced plants.
