FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method to detect surface tension on liquid-liquid phase boundary includes counting of drops leaking from a stalagmometer. Besides, counting of organic phase drops is carried out during its leakage from the stalagmometer separately into water and separately into emulsion, and surface tension on the boundary of water and organic phases - phase-to-phase tension σl-l (mN/m), is calculated according to the formula: σl-l=(σw-σorg.p)·nw/nem·ρorg.p /ρw, where σw - surface tension of water at the boundary with air, equal to 72.5 mN/m at 20°C; σorg.p - surface tension of organic phase at the boundary with air, mN/m; nw - quantity of organic phase drops, released into water; nem - quantity of organic phase drops, leaking into emulsion; ρorg.p/ρw - ratio of organic phase density to water density.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurements.
