SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a vehicle detection system which includes a built-in receiver located in a vehicle and adapted to receive a signal corresponding to a data sequence input by a user on a portable electronic device, as well as a vehicle audio device adapted to output a distinctive audio signal, if data are input by a user a given number of times during a given time interval, wherein the duration and volume of the sound depends at least in part on the number of signals (signal transmissions) received in a predetermined time interval.
EFFECT: enabling selective detection of a parked vehicle and transmitting signals through a standard remote controller taking into account characteristic properties of the environment surrounding the vehicle.
