SUBSTANCE: drum lifting machine includes drum wheel (9) connected with resettable drum (4) without possibility of rotation, and coupled wheel (11), that is made with possibility of movement along the axle relatively the main shaft (2) in the direction (15) of engagement and direction (16) of disengagement. For effective prevention of undesirable disengagement of the coupled wheel (11) of the resetting gear (8) between the drum wheel (9) and engaged and disengaged coupled wheel (11) the coupling elements are installed, which by means of rotation of the engaged coupled wheel (11) relatively to the drum wheel (9) by value of clearance (21) of side tooth surface are put and removed from engagement. The invention relates also to the method of engagement and disengagement of the resetting gear (8) of the drum lifting machine (1) of such type.
