FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing polyurethanes having at least two hydrophilic portions S, at least one hydrophilic portion P different from S, at least two terminal hydrophobic portions T and at least two hydrophobic portions D different from T, wherein each portion T is directly bonded to a portion S, each portion S is bonded on at least one side to at least one portion D, each portion P is bonded to at least two portions D, wherein the process is carried out in the presence of at least one alkali or alkali-earth metal salt of a monocarboxylic acid of general formula R-COOH, where R is a hydrocarbon residue with 1-12 carbon atoms. The present invention also relates to polyurethanes obtained using said method, use thereof as a thickener for aqueous compositions, as well as compositions containing such polyurethanes.
EFFECT: obtaining polyurethane thickeners having improved thickening action.
