SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to an absorbent product having a longitudinal direction, lateral direction, first primary surface forming an absorbent product surface facing the body, and second primary surface distal in relation to the first primary surface and forming an absorbent product surface facing a piece of clothing. The product comprises an absorbent core between the first primary surface and second primary surface. The product comprises at least one heat-activated expandable structure. At least one heat-activated expandable structure is arranged on or under the first primary surface. As a result of heat application, the heat-activated expandable barrier structure forms a peculiar design, barriers and/or canals.

EFFECT: invention provides tight attachment and improved leakage protection.
