SUBSTANCE: support unit of a pre-stressed membrane includes a stiff rod frame consisting of longitudinal and transverse beams, with a thin sheet membrane, and tightening rods. Transverse edges of the membrane are fixed to side surfaces of tightening rods adjoining transverse beams of the frame, support sections of the membrane are wound in the form of spiral turns around the side surfaces of the tightening rods, and supports of tightening rods are fixed by bolts at extreme transverse beams of the frame.

EFFECT: increased bending stiffness of a support membrane fixture.
